Following Dotloop’s Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) launch on November 7th, all customers signing up or logging in through a web browser will be required to enroll a phone number or one-time password app (such as Google Authenticator). Your 2FA can be reset in your ‘My Account’ section.

After signing in and/or registering your account, you will see a screen encouraging you to choose a 2FA method to keep your account safe. Learn more about signing up for a Dotloop account.
You will be presented with two options to secure your account by enrolling a One Time Password Authenticator app or by entering your phone number to receive Text Messages or Voice Calls containing a confirmation code.
The most secure option is to scan the QR code using your preferred authenticator app. Then you will need to enter the one-time code and click Continue.

If you prefer to use your phone number instead of an authenticator app you can click ‘Try another method’. Here you can enter your phone number to receive an enrollment code. Using your phone number allows you to receive the code via text message or phone call.
NOTE: If you are using a non-US phone number you can click on the arrow to the right of the Uniter States to select your country code.
Here's an example of the enrollment code you will receive via text message.
Depending on what you established as your preferred Two-Factor Authentication method, you will be asked to either check your text messages or Authenticator app for a 6 digit code.

Check your phone for a text message that provides your verification code to log in.
Open your preferred Authenticator app and locate the one-time code.
During 2FA enrollment a 16-digit recovery code is provided for cases where you have lost access to your second factor. Store this code in a secure location such as a password vault.
To access your account when your normal second factor has been lost or is unavailable, login with your email and password like normal.
When challenged to provide your confirmation code from your second factor, instead click “Try another method” and choose “Recovery code” as the option.
Enter the 16-digit code in the prompt provided, which will allow you access to your Dotloop account and give you a new fresh recovery code.
Once logged in, you can reset your second factor by following the “Resetting 2FA” steps below in this article.

Q: How often will I have to authenticate with my second factor to log into dotloop?
A: All sign in activity after enrollment will have a chance of being challenged for identity verification via your second factor depending on several risk factors. If there is a suspected “high risk” login (new device, new location, etc) then the system will prompt you to authenticate via your second factor to verify that it is a legitimate login. If you sign in regularly on the same device you can choose to “Remember this device for 30 days” which will allow all login activity on that device to proceed without being challenged for 30 days.
Q: Can I remove the second factor from my dotloop account?
A: You must always maintain a second factor on your account once enrolled. If you need to change or reset your second factor, visit My account > Account Settings, and click the link “RESET TWO-FACTOR AUTHENTICATION” on the left side of the Personal Information area. After confirming the action, your current factor will be removed, you will be logged out, and you will be required to enroll a new factor during your next login.
