Dotloop Messenger is a great way to keep in contact with your clients and create group messages. Messenger enables your clients to interact with you solely via text messaging. As an added benefit, Messenger generates a phone number for you (based on a nearby area code) so you can keep your own personal phone number private. Clients can save this number generated by our system.
Note: Messenger is free to use for all users, but the creation of new conversations is a Premium feature.

Click on the message bubble on the left side of the loop page.

If this is your first time interacting with Messenger, your page will appear as it does above. After you send your first message, all messages will appear here. These messages are cross-platform between the mobile apps. To start a new conversation, click on one of the two places marked in the photo.

At the top, type in a name, phone number, or email address. Below, you will also see your dotloop contacts.
Note: as Desktop Messenger is still in early stages, only some of your contacts may appear in the list. As we work on updates and improvements more features will be added to mirror the mobile version.

Clicking on a contact will add their name to the To: field at the top of the page. If this person has multiple means of contact saved in the contacts section of your account, you can choose whether to interact via email or text message.

Alternatively, type the phone number of the person you wish to message if they are not saved as a contact.

If you wish to message multiple people at once, add more recipients in the To: field. This will start a group message with everyone selected. When ready to proceed to the message, click Next at the top of the page.

Type your message at the bottom of the page, click send, and then it will appear in the message area. Below the message you can see that it was delivered, and what time it was delivered. Here's how the message appears for the recipient:

Your recipient will then receive a text containing your message. They need only to reply as a standard text message.

Once a reply is received, it will be available to view in Messenger.

Click the info icon (appears as “i” inside a circle) at the top of the conversation window to view the recipients and conversation details.
Note: This is the first step to creating an easier way to interact with clients, and there are some exciting things coming for Messenger. The desktop version currently only supports messaging, but be sure to download one of our mobile apps, which allows the ability to share documents to a recipient via text message.
