The dotloop mobile app provides you with many ways to add documents. Documents can be added from your templates, email, and even from many apps on your device that have PDFs saved to them. The dotloop app will also allow you to use your device's camera to scan in documents! Let's go through each way you can add a document via the mobile app.

Scan document
The scan document option will allow you to utilize your device's camera to photograph a document and scan it into dotloop. This is very useful for being on the go and needing to quickly add a document for signing from anywhere!
Step 1: Open the loop you would like to add a document to
From the loops homepage on your app, tap on the name of the loop that you need to add a document to.
Step 2: Tap on the plus sign in the bottom right to add a document
By default, when you open the loop you will be in the documents section. To add a document, tap on the blue circle with the white plus sign in the bottom right. (You can also use the Add Document button if the loop is empty)
Step 3: Tap on “Scan document’
To start the scanning process tap on “Scan document”.
Step 4: Allow dotloop to have access to your phone’s camera
If this is your first time scanning on the dotloop app you will need to give dotloop permission to use your phone’s camera.
Step 5: Position your camera over the document you need to scan
Line up the document in your camera’s view. You will be able to crop and edit later!
Step 6: Tap on the blue circle at the bottom to take the picture
To capture the image of the document tap on the blue circle at the bottom of the screen.
Step 7: Optional - Edit the photo as needed
You can use the square icon in the bottom left corner to crop the image, the circle in the middle to change the brightness, and the arrow in the bottom right to rotate.
Step 8: Tap on “Save Selection”
Whether you need to edit the image or not, once you're ready to add the document you will tap on “Save Selection”. Then tap on “Upload”.
Step 9: Name the document
Type in the name of the document that you scanned.
Step 10: Tap on the arrow to choose a folder
Tap on “Select” to choose a folder to add this document to.
Step 11: Tap on the check mark in the top right corner
Tap on the check mark in the top right corner to save all the selections and add the document to your loop.
Now the document will be a PDF in your loop that can be edited and shared.
Add from template
Step 1: Open the loop you would like to add a document to
From the loops homepage on your app, tap on the name of the loop that you need to add a document to.
Step 2: Tap on the plus sign in the bottom right to add a document
By default, when you open the loop you will be in the documents section. To add a document, tap on the blue circle with the white plus sign in the bottom right.
Step 3: Tap on “Add from template”
This will take you to the templates that you can add to this loop.
Step 4: Search or scroll to find the template you need
Depending on the amount of documents you have available in your templates you can scroll through all of the folders and documents or search. Use the magnifying glass in the top right to search for the template you need to add. You can also scroll through the templates and check off the documents that you need as you go. Tapping on the folder names will allow you to collapse and uncollapse as needed.
Step 5: Check the box to the left of the templates you need to add
Tap on the checkbox to the left of the template or template folder that you need to add. You can select multiple templates and template folders to add to this loop.
Step 6: Tap on the check mark in the top right corner
Tap on the check mark in the top right corner.
Step 7: Tap on the arrow to choose a folder
Tap on “Select” to choose a folder to add the template(s) to.
Step 8: Tap on the check mark in the top right corner
Tap on the check mark in the top right corner to save all the selections and add the template(s) to your loop.
Add from device
Adding documents from device will allow you to add any PDF documents that we have stored. These can come from either your device's built in storage, or via apps like Google Drive or OneDrive.
Step 1: Open the loop you would like to add a document to
From the loops homepage on your app, tap on the name of the loop that you need to add a document to.
Step 2: Tap on the plus sign in the bottom right to add a document
By default, when you open the loop you will be in the documents section. To add a document, tap on the blue circle with the white plus sign in the bottom right.
Step 3: Tap on “Add from Device”
This will take you to the templates that you can add to this loop.
Step 4: Tap on the source that you will add a document from
Choosing the add from device option will open a menu of apps and the ability to add from the images on your device.
Step 5: Tap on document or image you need to add
Tap on the document or image that you need to add to the loop.
Step 6: Name the document
Type in the name of the document that you scanned.
Step 7: Tap on the arrow to choose a folder
Tap on “Select” to choose a folder to add this document to.
Step 8: Tap on the check mark in the top right corner
Tap on the check mark in the top right corner to save all the selections and add the document to your loop.
Now the document will be a PDF in your loop that can be edited and shared.
Add from email
Within the dotloop app you have the ability to add a document to your loop via email. This will allow you to either forward existing emails, or create a new email from your device's existing email programs
Step 1: Open the loop you would like to add a document to
From the loops homepage on your app, tap on the name of the loop that you need to add a document to.
Step 2: Tap on the plus sign in the bottom right to add a document
By default, when you open the loop you will be in the documents section. To add a document, tap on the blue circle with the white plus sign in the bottom right.
Step 3: Tap on “Add from Email”
This will take you to the templates that you can add to this loop.
Step 4: Tap on the arrow to choose a folder
Tap on “Select” to choose a folder to add this document to.
Step 5: Copy the email address
Copy the email address that appears under “Email document to”.
Step 6: Leave the dotloop app and open your email account on this device
You do not need to close the dotloop app completely but you will need to navigate to your email account on this device.
Step 7: Open the email with the PDF attachment
Open the email with the PDF attachment(s) that ou need to add to the loop.
Step 8: Tap on “Forward”
Tap on “Forward” to forward the attachment(s) into the loop.
Step 9: Paste the email address into the “To:” field
Paste the email address that you copied from dotloop into the “To:” field.
Step 10: Send the email
Send the email with the attachment(s) to the folder in the loop.
Step 11: Navigate back to the dotloop app and open the loop
Go back to the dotloop app and open the loop that you forwarded the email into.
Now the document will be a PDF in your loop that can be edited and shared.
