Signing a document sent to you
Signing documents shared with you on the Android mobile app is a quick and easy process. If you have the app installed and notifications enabled, you will receive a notification to sign the document or documents shared to you. Learn more about managing notifications here.
Step 1: Tap on the push notification on your home screen
As stated above, if you have notifications enabled then you will receive a notification to sign the document.
If you are not utilizing notifications then you will need to open the app and locate the loop that the documents were shared to. A quick way to do this is to use the notification bell at the bottom of your screen.
Alternatively, you can open the email notification you received to view and complete the document.
Step 2: Tap on the Get Started button
Once the document is open tap on the Get Started button.
Step 3: Tap on the first signature or initial field and Adopt your signature
On this screen you are able to edit your name and initials. You can also tap on the pen icon in the top right to draw your signature and initials.
Step 4: Tap on the checkmark to “adopt” your signature
Whether or not you made changes to your signature and initials you will need to tap on the checkmark to “adopt” your signature.
Step 5: Tap on any other signature and initials fields that you need to complete
If you have more than one field assigned to you, tap on each field individually to sign and/or initial.
Step 6: Tap on the checkmark at bottom of screen
Tap on the check mark at the bottom to save the document and share it back to the person that requested your signature.
Signing your own document
If you are preparing a document in your account, and wish to sign it, you are able to do so directly from within the document while in the mobile app.
Step 1: Tap on the loop that holds the document you need to sign
Tap on the loop name that holds the document you need to sign.
Step 2: Tap on the name of the document that you need to sign
Tap on the name of the document that you need to sign.
Step 3: Tap on the pencil in the bottom right to begin editing
In order to add a field or change the assignment on an existing field, tap on the pencil in the bottom right to begin editing.
Step 4: Add or assign a field to yourself.
It’s possible that you will open the document and the field(s) you need to sign will already be assigned to you or your role. If that’s the case then you can skip to step 5.

If the document you opened already has signature and initial fields, tap on the field you need to sign, tap on the head and shoulders icon in the top right, Choose a specific person, and select yourself.
If you need to add field(s) to sign, tap on the plus sign in the top right corner. Tap on the type of field you need to add, signature or initial, and then tap on the document to place the field.
Step 5: Tap on the signature or initial fields assigned to you
Tap on the fields that are assigned to you to initial and/or sign.
Step 6: Adopt your signature
On this screen you can edit your name and initials. You can also tap on the pencil in the top right to draw your signature and initials.
Step 7: Tap on the checkmark to “adopt” your signature
Whether or not you made changes to your signature and initials, you will need to tap on the checkmark to “adopt” your signature.
Step 8: Tap on any other signature and initials fields that you need to complete
If you have more than one field assigned to you then you will need to tap on each field individually to sign and/or initial.
Step 9: Tap on the floppy disk icon in the top right to save the document
Tap on the floppy disk in the top right to save the document.
Hosting an in person signing
If you are currently with the individual you wish to have sign a document, dotloop will allow you to host the signing in person, directly from your account. To do this, you must have the person in the loop, with an email address, and the document prepared for signing, and saved.
Step 1: Tap on the loop that holds the document you need signed
Tap on the loop name that holds the document you need signed.
Step 2: Open one document or multiple documents that you need signed
If you only need one document signed then you will tap on the document name to open.
If you need multiple documents signed then tap on the paper icon in the gray circle to the left of each document, then tap on the arrow in the top right corner to open them all at once.
Step 3: Tap on the three vertical dots in the top right corner
Tap on the three vertical dots in the top right corner and choose Host in Person Signing.
Step 4: Select the person that will be signing
Tap on the person that will be signing.
Step 5: Client taps on ‘Begin Signing’
This is when you will hand the mobile device to your client and they will tap on ‘Begin Signing’.
Step 6: Client will Adopt and Sign any fields assigned to them

The client will go through the signing experience and then tap on “Share back to (agent’s name)”.
Step 7: Navigate back to the app
During the host in person signing experience, the app will use the mobile browser to complete the signing process. Once the agent is back in the dotloop app, tap on ‘Done’.
Step 8: Repeat steps 3-7 if another person needs to sign.
If you have another person that needs to host in person sign repeat steps 3-7.
