The autofill function in dotloop is one of the best features for quickly completing documents. If you are using a properly set up interactive template, we will automatically fill in any information based on the people in your loop, and most importantly, the information in your view details section. Let's go over autofilling a document in a new loop.
To start, let's first create a new loop.
Name your new loop next.
To utilize autofill, we will want to add one of our interactive templates.
For this example I've selected a Real Estate Agreement.
The document will now be added to your loop. Let's tap on the document name to open it.
Upon opening the document for the first time dotloop will prompt you that there are fields able to be autofilled. Tap Show me.
We will now be presented with the Autofill window. Here we will see each section available for autofill. When within a section, tap on the field to edit it.
Swiping through each page we will see we can also assign people to the roles available. Let's tap on the menu icon to assign the seller.
We will be presented with everyone currently in the loop, but in this example we have yet to add our seller so let's tap Add Person.
We will now add the name and email address of our seller. Once complete, tap Add at the top.
Once added, we'll be returned to the Autofill window and see that our seller is now assigned! This person will also be added to our loop as well.
One page we will want to pay special attention to is the Property Address section. Here we have the ability to search for a property address or MLS number. This is important, as we can quickly link to a listing (only if available) from a dotloop listing, or an MLS listing! To search, tap on ADD ADDRESS OR MLS NUMBER.
We can now search to see if a listing is available via the address or MLS number.
Once we have gone through each section, filling out as much information as we can, we can now apply these fields to Autofill.
The document will not be populated with all the data from the autofill process. Ensure that everything is correct, make and changes that need to be made, and be sure to save your document!
Once we save, the Save button will revert to the Edit button, letting us know that we have successfully saved.
Now, let's say this is not the first time you've opened the document, or you need to access the autofill menu again. We can always open this from within the document. To do so, first tap on the More button at the bottom left.
From the menu, just tap on Autofill and you will be returned to the autofill page!
