The dotloop mobile app provides you with many ways to add documents. Documents can be added from your templates, email, and even from many apps on your device that have PDFs saved to them. The dotloop app will also allow you to use your device's camera to scan documents! Let's go through each way you can add a document via the mobile app.

The scan document option will allow you to utilize your device's camera to photograph a document and scan it into dotloop. This is very useful for being on the go and needing to quickly add a document for signing from anywhere!

From the loops homepage on your app, tap on the name of the loop that you need to add a document to.

By default, when you open the loop you will be in the details section. Tap on Docs at the top of the screen to see the documents section.

To start adding a document, tap on the plus sign to the right of the word "Documents".

To start the scanning process tap on Scan document.
Note: If this is your first time scanning on the dotloop app you will need to give dotloop permission to use your phone’s camera.
Line up the document in your camera’s view. You will be able to crop and edit later!

To capture the image of the document tap on the blue circle at the bottom of the screen.

You can drag the corners of the document into place to crop the document. You can also use the icons at the bottom to edit the photo.
Bottom left square - this gives a suggestion on how to crop the photo to the document so you don’t have to manually drag the corners.
Circle - Changes the photo from black and white to color.
Rotate - Rotates the photo to the right.

Whether you need to edit the image or not, once you're ready to add the document you will tap on Save Selection.

You will be returned to the camera each time to scan the remaining pages of the document.

Now you can review your scanned page(s). The icon in the bottom left allows you to edit the selection and the garbage can in the bottom right corner allows you to delete the page.

Tap on Merge and Upload.

Type in the name of the document and then tap on Folder to select the folder you want to add the document to.

Tap on Save Document.
Now the document will be a PDF in your loop that can be edited and shared.


From the loops homepage on your app, tap on the name of the loop that you need to add a document to.

To get to the document section of the loop, tap on Docs toward the top of your screen.

To start adding a document, tap on the plus sign to the right of the word "Documents".

This will take you to the templates that you can add to this loop.

Depending on the amount of documents you have available in your templates you can scroll through all of the folders and documents or search. Use the magnifying glass in the top right to search for the template you need to add. You can also scroll through the templates and check off the documents that you need as you go.

Once you have the documents selected tap Add in the top right.

Tap on Select Folder to choose a folder to add the template(s) to. Then tap the back arrow in the top left corner.

Tap on the Save button to save the selection.
Now you can open the templates and begin autofilling.
Adding documents from Photos will allow us to add any photos that you have stored. Dotloop will convert these to PDFs to be stored in the loop.

This will take you to the photos on your device that you can add to this loop.
Note: You may have to give dotloop access to your photos.

Tap on the photo you want to add to the loop.

Tap on Upload.

Type in the name of the document and then tap on Folder to select the folder you want to add the document to.

Tap on Save Document.
Now the photo will be a PDF in your loop that can be edited and shared.
Within the dotloop app we have the ability to add a document to our loop via email. This will allow us to either forward existing emails, or create a new email from your devices existing email programs

From the loops homepage on your app, tap on the name of the loop that you need to add a document to.

By default, when you open the loop you will be in the details section. Tap on Docs at the top of the screen to see the documents section.

To start adding a document, tap on the plus sign to the right of the word Documents.

Tap on Via Email.

Tap on Select to choose a folder to add this document to.

Tap the Copy to Clipboard bottom at the bottom of your screen.

You do not need to close the dotloop app completely but you will need to navigate to your email account on this device.

Open the email with the PDF attachment(s) that you need to add to the loop.

Tap on Forward to forward the attachment(s) into the loop.

Paste the email address that you copied from dotloop into the “To:” field.

Send the email with the attachment(s) to the folder in the loop.

Go back to the dotloop app and open the loop that you forwarded the email into.
Now the document will be a PDF in your loop that can be edited and shared.
