In dotloop, you have the ability to select from a list of roles for every person in a loop. These roles include Seller, Buyer, Listing Agent, Buying Agent, etc. You may only select one role for any one person in a loop.
What do you do in the case where you fit more than one role? In a transaction, you may be the Seller as well as the Listing Agent, or even be working in a dual role as the Listing Agent and the Buying Agent. To accomplish this, you do not need to add yourself to a loop multiple times, as this could cause confusion when assigning fields or working within a document. Follow the steps in these scenarios to use dotloop as multiple roles:
I'm the Seller/Buyer, and the Listing/Buying Agent

From the My Loops page, click on a loop to open it or create a new loop by clicking the +Add Loop button and following the steps.

Whether you created this loop or you were invited to the loop, you will already be listed as a person. To the right of your name you may see your current role or the word “Role”. This is where you’re going to give yourself the role that will save you the most time.
For example: if you are the listing agent and the seller in this loop then you would want to set your role as “Seller”. Giving yourself the role of seller will auto-assign more signature and initial fields and it will autofill your name in all of the seller fields.

If you’re opening your interactive document(s) for the first time, the Autofill window should automatically appear. If this isn’t your first time opening the document(s) then you can click “Autofill” at the top right of your screen. Double check that your role is set correctly, fill in any other information to autofill the document, then click the Autofill button in the bottom right of the window.

If you assigned yourself the role of Seller then you would need to go through the document and fill out the Listing Agent information. Click on any empty text boxes and begin typing.

If you see any signature or initial fields that you need to sign, make sure they’re assigned to you. You can do this by clicking on the field to select it then checking the top left of the screen to see who it’s assigned to. If the field isn’t assigned to the role you assigned yourself or directly to you then click on the assignment drop down and select your name.

Click on the field you need to sign and then click the Sign Now button and adopt your signature or initials.
I am both the Listing and Buying Agent

From the My Loops page, click on a loop to open it or create a new loop by clicking the +Add Loop button and following the steps.

Whether you created this loop or you were invited to the loop you will already be listed as a person. To the right of your name you may see your current role or the word “Role”. This is where you’re going to give yourself the role that will save you the most time. Again, as we can only choose one role in dotloop we will still want to choose the most relevant role, and make sure not to add ourselves to the loop again. Let's choose the role of Listing Agent in this example (either agent role will suffice in this situation).
You can also add your sellers and buyers to the loop at this point.

If you’re opening your interactive document(s) for the first time then the Autofill window should automatically appear. If this isn’t your first time opening the document(s) then you can click “Autofill” at the top right of your screen. Double check that your role is set correctly, fill in any other information to autofill the document then click the Autofill button in the bottom right of the window.

Depending on what role you assigned yourself you will notice that fields that should have your information filled in or assigned are empty.

If you gave yourself the role of Listing Agent then you would need to go through the document and fill out the Buying Agent information and vice versa.
