A task template is simply a reusable Task List, which is a group of tasks you can load into a loop. As an agent, any task templates you create are your own personal lists that are only accessible to you, until shared in a loop. To create your own task template:

When logged into your dotloop account, click the icon second furthest from the right to go to the templates section.

As an agent you may notice that you have some task lists on your account already. These task lists have been set up for you by your company and can be used within your loops. Since these are set up by your office, they will not be editable (you will see the lists, but no icons to edit anything within them). These are available to be imported to any loop. See more on loop tasks in this article.

If there are no tasks templates provided by your company and you haven’t yet created any, this screen appears. Click the Create Task List button.

If there are existing tasks templates, they may be provided by your brokerage to use in loops. Click +Task List at the top right of the Tasks section to add a new personal list.

Type your task in the text field. Click the Create Task List button when finished.

Click the field and begin typing.

Upon hitting enter on your keyboard, a new text field for another task entry automatically appears. Repeat steps 5 & 6 until the list is complete.
Pro Tip: Tasks can be reordered in any list you have created by clicking and dragging the task to the position you wish to add it. Once done it's complete, no need to save!

You will always have the option to assign the task to yourself, no one, or add a person to assign the task. By assigning a task to a person, they will be added to the loop each time this task list is added, and this loop will be added to their account notifying them that they have a task to complete. Tasks assigned to No One can always be assigned later in a loop.

Selecting a due date for the task can be done within the same menu as in step 7. You can select a specific time frame here, or choose to make the task due after another task on the list has been completed. Your changes save automatically.

You also can manage the options of the entire template. Click the overflow icon (3 vertical dots) to the right of the task template name and select an option:
- Rename: this will allow you to rename the task list.
- Delete: this deletes the entire task list (and cannot be undone).
- Hide from team by default: this option will hide the task list from anyone in your loop that would normally have access to view it (i.e. people who are listed as on my team in a loop, such as people you have added to your team or admins).
- Lock by default: this allows anyone on your team in a loop to be able to see your task list, but not be able to edit it.
